1.       That quote is talking about destroying someone’s life. It would be so easy for a man to go over to another man’s house and destroy his life without even putting a finger on him. You would just have to take away everything he loves and make sure he could never get him back and you could make him go absolutely crazy because of it.   

2.       I think that our Savage self would take over because the civilized self won’t always do what it takes to survive or be on top. The savage side of us would do whatever it takes to be on top and live longer than anyone else and would do it whatever it takes to be the man on top. In real life our civilized side is in more control then our savage side but that’s because of the area we live in and we never get put in bad situations, but if you put someone in the position where he has to pick what to do, the savage will come out.

3.       This is kind of a hard question to answer because it’s a totally different situation in African than it is in America. At this point society is mostly controlled by people because we set up the rules and what is called the norms. Without the rules and mind set people set for us in the past… we would be absolutely crazy, and people would do whatever they want every day of their lives. We can’t live in a society, were rules don’t matter.

4.       So, Simon is going crazy because he is low on food and water, he thinks he is having a conversation with the Lord of the Flies but it’s just his own thoughts. He obviously can tell he is getting ignorant by the people he is on the island with. I just think this could’ve happened to anyone he was just the first one to lose it and didn’t know what he was doing and was talking the pig because he was afraid and need someone to talk to and that’s what he made up. Imagine trying to live on a island with a bunch of kids going crazy, with low food and water, you are bound to go crazy and possible die.

            You asked us to put ourselves in their shoes but honestly that is a very difficult task because no one could understand what these boys have gone through, unless you are one of them or some kind a sex slave. Thinking about it, I could not imagine getting taken by someone and told you had to dress up like a women and dance for other men and if a man wants to buy you for the night you must go with him and do whatever he says. Also, you must remember these boys are from other religion were if something like this would happen to you, you would be shamed by your family and probably never be let back in. For this kids and young adults, they would make some hard decides just to get out of these by doing things like making a deal with the Taliban. I know this happens all other they world to both women and men but honestly because of the religionist background this might be the worst for those boys. I mean the parents won’t understand what those boys went through and will basically kick them out of the family and shame them. Plus, they can never go back because they know where they live and would just take them again or even kill them. Honestly sex slave is the worst thing in my option because of the effect it does to people and once it happens to you, weather you make it out or not you will always have that in the back of your head.

So, he was talking about how we should always stand in another person shoes and see where they are coming from before we decide on our actions. He really opened my eyes when he was talking how they saw us as Christian that wanted to kill off their races even though we were there for the oil, we wanted to our own.  When they looked us up they saw nothing but rich white people running the streets of American even though it’s nothing like that at all, but that’s the only thing they saw from the webpages, plus they would see those Christian army boot camps that would make it seem like we are training kids to fight the war for us so when they get older they can go to Iraq and kill them and take everything they have but at the same time Americans are seeing Muslims kill Americans and chopping off their heads to show power and that they aren’t giving up on their country.  So, from both point of views all we see is are the bad stuff because both courtiers want to seem like the good guys even though either of us are really doing anything good. Even though a lot of people want to go over there and help build schools, give food, and help them out in overall, all they can see is the bad stuff we do because of the people in American are kind of giving that aspect to make them mad and make all Americans look bad, even though most of us want the best for both sides and just want world peace. The also proves way there will never be world peace, just image trying to make world peace without both sides seeing the good the other wants to do.

Like for the main character she is having trouble deciding witch group to get involved in, she wants to be apart of the smart people, but she also wants to be apart of the people she thinks is cool to her. For her little brother he gets bullied around by a older kid because he is young and smaller so the older kid makes himself by pushing around. The show, shows how kids try and get themselves involved with other people and how they try to do anything to be cool.
